It was in far West Nepal in 2017 that we first met 10 year old Jonas. We were immediately taken by his inquisitive nature and intelligence beyond his years. He was already accomplished at doing "profit & loss" statement lessons, given to him by his 5th grade teacher when he breezed through the regular curriculum. From a small piece of broken solar panel, he also had made a phone charger! We became determined to get him a better education. Since the spring of 2018, your donations have provided his tuition to the "Living Stone Academy" in Kathmandu, where he is now top of his class in mathematics and science!
UPDATE - 2026!
Jonas continues to thrive at his studies. He excels in math and computer science, and with a friend is starting a business, using the education he has received with your help!!

Mission 10 - 2026
It's been nearly ten years since my first trip to Nepal. To say I was moved by the experience of the country and it's people, is an understatement. So many children and families in need. I joined with my sister Joan and friend Barbara Felver to form the 501(c3) non-profit The Planet of Kids Foundation, Inc. in August of 2018. This September will be the 10th trip I have made to spread as far as possible, donations we have been receiving. Medical, educational, nutrition, employment, job training, and shelter. Help us help them with whatever amount you can comfortably give. Consider a small monthly gift to maximize your impact. Send hope and smiles from half a world away. Namaste! Don

We are constantly finding deserving children to give assistance with education, health and nutrition. The more you give, the more we can do. The American dollar has tremendous buying
power. $40 buy 100 lbs of quality rice. $10 can feed a family of four for several days.

"Planet of Kids Foundation" President Don Manning and "Fair Trade Group - Nepal" District Coordinator Gyanendra Pathak met in Bagdol near Kathmandu, in November 2018. They discussed the teaming up on future projects and transactions that will benefit both organizations and therefore the people they serve.
